Had a really nice meal with the family here tonight. The waiter was attentive and friendly, the food was fresh and tasty and the atmosphere was perfect. The house wine was top notch and the beer well kept. Would definitely recommend dining here.
The staff here could not have been more helpful and kind. Right from check in to check out and everything in between. I happened to be asking at the bar what the earliest time was that I could order a kid’s dinner when the chef overheard me and said he would make it straight away if my little one was hungry! (Half an hour before the kitchen officially opened for the dinner service).
The room we had was beautiful with a massive comfortable king sized bed and still plenty of space for the travel cot. Large window had proper black out blinds. It was thoughtfully towards the back of the pub away from the bar so made for excellent quiet toddler sleeping. Massive cricket field in front for the kids to play in and a lovely patio next to it to enjoy a cocktail in the evening sunshine.
The bar has a great cocktail menu and Oli does a very good Whiskey sour!
Now to the food! I have definitely saved the best for the last! Amazing is an inadequate word for the food served at the Cricketer’s Arms. Every meal we had was an absolute delight and so beautifully presented. The portions were just right. The service again was excellent and thoughtful.
We have already booked to return!
Had breakfast at the Cricketers Arms on Saturday morning, one breakfast room had the Rugby World Cup on the television (which suited me as I could keep an eye on the games) whilst the other played quiet background music.
I ordered coffee and the avocado toast with two poached eggs and smoked salmon, I believe that the salmon is smoked on site and it was all delicious. I highly recommend this dish.
The staff were warm and welcoming too.
